This is my top 10 selection of powerful mindset tools—simple practices that, when repeated and consciously woven into daily life, can create profound and lasting transformation. These tools are designed to support mental clarity, emotional resilience, and inner strength, especially during times of change.
You may discover, as I have, that a mantra finds you rather than the other way around. It often appears at exactly the moment you need it most—when you are standing at a crossroads or facing a defining decision. In these moments, a mantra has the power to quiet the noise, shift your perspective, and guide you through with greater ease, confidence, and insight.
This time of year naturally invites reflection and intention setting. As the veil between the past year and the year ahead feels thinner, we are offered a unique opportunity to pause, realign, and move forward with purpose. Passing through this transition with courage and clarity is what creates the mindset shift and personal growth we so deeply seek.
My hope is that within this collection, you will find a mantra or tool that speaks directly to where you are right now—and supports the transformation you are ready to step into.
- “ I don’t have to be perfect, I’m OK just as I am”
This was the first mantra I was ever given 27 years ago when I was pregnant with my second son. It was given to me by a rebirther, so that I didn’t pass my worries and fears onto my child.
2. “It’s only when you live with peace with yourself, can you live in peace with others”
I have this written on a post it note, from 15 years ago. It is a mantra that speaks to each of us individually; tricky situations, it can diffuse the fight within, calm emotional triggers, take the heat out of an argument. It reminds us that often situations are a reflection of what is going on within, and it is here, that the work needs to be done, we can’t change others, but we can change ourselves.
3. “Don’t think you are – Know you are” Morpheus to New in Matrix 1.
Confidence in knowing. There are a lot of great snapshots in the Matrix, but this is one of my favs, it resonates with so many of us in times of self- doubt. It’s a motivating mantra that I have shared with friends and loved ones many, many times.

4. “ I am always in exactly the right place I am meant to be, at any given time”
This is close contender for number 1, due to universe!! I cant remember when or who I get this from, but it comes back to me every time I find myself really F*****d off at the situation. It reminds me that everything is as it should be, nothing is random. I chose to be here, so why, (even when it was in the most awful like an ashram in India with rats!!! ) Let it unravel in divine order and grow.
5. “One positive thought in the morning, can change a whole day”
I’ve added this here because this is a reminder that each day has something new to bring and to not drag yesterday’s thoughts, words and deeds into today. A simple powerful tool for presence. Keep this close as a daily reminder.
6. “Thinking is overrated- Doing is underrated”
I used to think that thinking was where it is at!! – I’m thinking about this.. and that. But in last couple of years I has switched this around and now I think less. I know that action is what is required to stimulate change and over – thinking can disempower a great idea.
7. “No act of kindness no matter how small is insignificant” Mahatma Gandhi
Smile at a stranger, help someone with their bags, give your spare coins to a poor soul on the street…the list goes on. I have shared this many, many times with my yoga students. Everywhere you go there is an opportunity to be kind, do be nice, you just got to be receptive to this concept and the world opens up.
8. “ My Life is my message “ Mahatma Gandhi
The story goes, Gandhi was getting on a train and one of his devotee’s came rushing up to him, handing a paper and pencil- “Master, Master give us a message before you leave.” and Gandhi replies with this. A lesson for all of us that every thought, word and action is the message that we send out to the universe.

9. “Just because things are not working out as planned, doesn’t mean God says No”
I don’t believe in manifestation, I stopped looking into the crystal ball years ago, always thinking about what’s happening next, and missing out on what’s here right now!. Aligning yourself with the universal laws will open the path ahead, manifestation is not required. Make constructive plans, build foundations to grow. Remove the need, the desire, the want, from your mindset. Live with spiritual awareness and life will unravel, nothing is random.
10. “Don’t argue with God” Master Co.
Concluding with this brings this selection down to land. This helps me come into the present moment, it puts everything into perspective. In many ways oit is the answer to all the “why is this happening!”, “poor me” vibes.
I hope you find something here that could be a powerful tool for you.
